DR. BEENA KURIAN BDS
Dr Beena Kurian has been practicing all aspects of general dentistry for many years and has taken over the management and ownership of the long established dental practice from Dr. Ivan Young in November 2014. She graduated in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Oxford Dental College, Bangalore in 2007 and successfully completed her Australian Dental Council Examinations after relocating to Wollongong in 2010.
Beena is a confident and caring professional, who takes time to listen to her patient’s concerns and provides treatments according to their needs and budget. She has a track record of providing a whole range of dental treatments to patients of all ages in maintaining their optimal oral health. She believes in the importance of keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in dentistry and has attended numerous hands-on courses on different branches of dentistry such as Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implants, Periodontics, and Oral surgery. She is interested in all aspects of dentistry but has a special love for Implants, paediatric and cosmetic dentistry. Being a kind and approachable person, she makes everyone at ease and comfortable.
Beena lives with her husband and children in Illawarra and looking forward to continue the long tradition of quality dentistry along with team at Woonona Dentists. In addition to English she is well conversant in Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. Along with Shinu Joseph, she involves in various community upbuilding projects both in Australia and India. Outside of dentistry, Beena enjoys travelling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Natasha Khushalani BDS
The most rewarding aspect of dentistry for Natasha is that she can enhance her patient’s smile and confidence.
Since graduating in 2007, Natasha is dedicated to maintaining the highest level of clinical excellence throughout her patient care. She has committed herself to ongoing education attending several courses with a drive for comprehensive treatment planning and attention to details. With over decade of experience in the dental field, she plans and offers treatments designed to suit the specific needs budget of each patient.
In addition to her expertise in all aspects of general dentistry, Natasha is passionate about improving smile aesthetics for children and adults through orthodontics at Woonona Dentists. Natasha has completed three years study in Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2012 and has helped many patients of all ages to improve their smile and confidence. Dr. Khushalani believes in early intervention in children using functional appliance therapy and the benefits this provides in reducing extractions of teeth. She sets her orthodontic treatment goals to create not just straight teeth, but for optimal facial aesthetics, keeping in mind function and stability.
Natasha is a compassionate dentist and puts her patients at ease by fostering communication and trust. She believes that prevention and regular maintenance is the key to good oral health and wellbeing. Outside of dentistry, Natasha enjoys travelling, exploring different cuisines and spending time with friends and family.

Dr ABHA VERMA BDS
Dr Abha Verma is an experienced dentist who has been working in Wollongong, Sydney and Regional NSW for the past many years. Abha is a member of Australian Dental association and has attended further studies in Root Canal Treatments. Abha has a very caring and warm demeanor and her patients comment on her professionalism and gentleness in provision of the treatments. Abha engages with her patients in a way that they feel listened to and do the best for them in accordance with their needs and budget.
Abha is well versed in all aspects of general dentistry. She has special interests in Root Canal Treatments, Invisalign, kids and family dentistry, simple to complex restorations such as crown and bridges. Abha is a keen learner and attends regular professional development programs to make her equipped with advanced dental skills.
As a socially responsible individual, Abha gives back to her community by involving with Woonona Dentists in various Smile Projects. When not working at Woonona Dentists, Dr. Verma enjoys spending time with her family, practicing Yoga and reading books.

Dr Irena Kostoska Stojkovski Graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2017. She has been working in dental practices in Australia and abroad in different roles ever since. Irena is skilled in all areas of general dentistry and her mission is to provide comprehensive dental treatment to all patients in an environment that is safe, reassuring, pleasant and comfortable. Her patients of all ages appreciate her caring and approachable personality.
Irena strives to be the best in dental care and takes a lifelong approach to learning and education. She continuously seeks out training and professional development opportunities that allow her to remain aware and knowledgeable about new dental developments and the latest technology that would help her excel her patient care. She believes that prevention, early detection and intervention result in the delivery of the best and long-term care for her patients. In addition to English, she is well conversant in Macedonian and Serbian.
Irena lives in Wollongong with her husband and children and is looking forward to continuing the long-term tradition of provision of quality dentistry with Woonona and Dapto Dentists. Outside of work, Irena enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and exploring local restaurants.

Dr. Chin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery and has pursued advanced training in dental implants, culminating in a prestigious Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants) from the esteemed University of Sydney. His dedication to staying at the forefront of dental advancements is evident through his integration of the latest technology into his daily practice, utilizing digital scanners and digital workflow. Dr. Chin’s extensive experience in dental implants allows him to offer patients durable and natural-looking replacements for missing teeth, employing the latest technological advancements in dentistry.
In addition to dental implants, Dr. Chin has extensive experience and advanced training in wisdom teeth removal using complete surgical protocols and sedation. Our History
Dr. Ivan Young joined Dr. Paul Blatch and his associates in 1975 in a Wollongong practice founded by Dr. McGovern. As a practice they offered quality dental services to families of many generations in Illawarra region, mainly at the Kembla Street, Wollongong surgery and later established their Woonona branch in the early 1980s.
Dr. Beena Kurian and Mr. Shinu Joseph took over the ownership and management of Dr. Ivan Young’s share in these practices and formed Woonona Dentists in November 2014.
Dr. Natasha Kushalani, Dr. Abha Verma, Dr. Irena Stjkovski, and Dr. Pat Pandey joined the practice with Dr. Beena Kurian to continue the tradition of high-quality dental care when Dr. Ivan Young retired in 2016.
In July 2017, we opened the doors of our branch practice in Dapto, called Dapto Dentists to better cater to the dental needs of families who live in the southern Illawarra region.
We strive to continue the tradition of caring for the dental health of several generations of patients over the 40 years of its existence.
In 2024, we took over Centre Health Dental and continued our tradition of quality dentistry under the banner Shellhabour Dentists
